Self-Employed Persons Program
The Self-Employed Persons Program is a Canadian immigration pathway designed for individuals who have relevant experience and the ability to become self-employed in Canada. It is intended for candidates who can contribute to Canada’s cultural or athletic sectors or manage a farm business.
Applicants must demonstrate the intention and ability to create their own employment in Canada and contribute significantly to the cultural or sporting life of the country.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must have relevant experience in at least one of the following areas:
- At least 2 years of experience participating at a world-class level in cultural activities or athletics, or
- At least 2 years of self-employment experience in cultural activities or athletics, or
- At least 2 years of experience in farm management
Important Notes
- Applicants must be willing and able to become self-employed in Canada.
- Those intending to live in Quebec must apply under the Quebec Self-Employed Program.
- All applications are assessed based on experience, adaptability, and potential contribution to Canada.
