International students are allowed to work 20 hours every week on a part time basis with an approved work permit. Without the permit the students are only allowed work within the university campus. Additionally, a student can enjoy the rights to work full time during the annual summer breaks, hence students can work at least 40 hours a week without having to go through any restrictions. Upon the completion of studies, students can apply for a Post-Graduate Work Permit to extend the time to live in Canada. This can allow the student to live and work in Canada anywhere between two to three years and will steadily help your chances for securing a residence permit for longer stay in Canada.
Work opportunities during studies: Students can enjoy up to 20 hours a week in a part-time capacity and work full-time during the summer breaks. Jobs are available across retail, hospitality, storage, and on-campus jobs.
Work opportunities after studies: The PGW scheme ensure the rights for international students to work full time for up to 2 to 3 years across numerous industries, e.g. IT, Data Science, AI, and Engineering.
